Walter Fick Will Deliver the Change Elko Needs
“I am running for City Council because Elko deserves better government. Our city should serve every citizen equally, not just the well-connected or powerful. We deserve a safer and more affordable Elko that has the shopping, restaurants, and amenities that we all want, while also preserving our heritage.
As a career local prosecutor, I have always stood up for what is right, fought for justice, and dedicated myself to protecting our community. I understand how government works and how to fix the broken parts. As a City Councilman, I will bring the same integrity, intelligence, and work ethic to solving our problems and delivering the better future Elko deserves.”
Conservative Solutions for Elko’s Problems
- Bring new stores, restaurants, and businesses to Elko by changing the City’s culture, actively recruiting entrepreneurs, and cutting the bureaucratic red tape.
- Fix the housing crisis by slashing California-style regulations, selling vacant land to allow new construction, and investing in the necessary infrastructure for growth.
- Clean up Downtown Elko by holding property owners accountable and incentivizing the redevelopment of abandoned buildings and vacant lots.
- Improve fiscal accountability and protect taxpayers with Zero-Based Budgeting.
- Reduce crime by hiring more police officers, rebuilding the drug task force, investing in modern technology, and creating mandatory jail sentences for repeat offenders.
- Fix traffic problems by completing the Errecart Boulevard project, improving other roads, and adding new traffic lights at the busiest intersections.
